How to buy

There are several ways you can purchase items that are at auction here at Zorrilla Subastas.

In our shop

If you’re local, you can participate in our auctions by visiting us in our shop on the day of the event and bidding in person.

De forma anticipada

It is also possible to make bids prior to the auction. In order to do this, simply inform us in advance of the auction lot you are interested in and the maximum price you are willing topurchase it at. If at the time of auction no bids are made on the item you have previously bidden on, you will aquire the item at its base price. If there are no bids higher than yours on the auctioned item, you will purchase the item at the price immediately following the last bid made at auction.

In order to register for a live phonecall during an auction or make a bid on an item prior to the auction you must contact us. Please do so during the auction’s exhibition period (usually
running for 3 weeks), which lasts until 18:00 the day before the auction.

By phone

If you are unable to attend the auction in person, we can contact you by phone during the auction at the time of bidding for the lot of your interest.

Online from anywhere

It is also possible to participate in our auctions virtually from anywhere in the world, through either LiveAuctioneers or Invaluable. If you are using either of these bidding platforms, you will be able to watch the auction in real time.

If an item is purchased through either LiveAuctioneers or Invaluable, the buyer pays an additional 5% commision fee (earned by the bidding platform), bringing the total commision to 22%.

Commission

In all cases the buyer’s commission stands at 17% of the hammer price of each piece
auctioned.

Payments

We advise that our customers both pay for and collect their purchased item(s) within three working days of the given auction’s finishing. If the purchase of an item has not been completed after 10 working days buyer is considered to have desisted from the purchase and will be charged an additional 30% fee.

International send

If a purchase is made by a buyer who does not live in Uruguay, we will send their purchased item(s) to them via FedEx. We advise that in cases such as these, you consult the costs of shipping and packaging beforehand, and are aware of any customs formalities pertinent to the purchased item(s).
